Reset The Router First To Use Linksys Default Password

  1. Every router has a reset button. Find the reset button on your Linksys router. It’s located on the back of your router.linksys default password
  2. Use the paper pin or something using which you can press that button for around 5-10 seconds.
  3. Press the button until router starts blinking or all the notification lights on the router glow up.
  4. Your router is now reset to defaults.

Connect to your router’s WiFi using the default password or using WPS. Router’s default password should be written on the instruction or box which comes along with the router or below the router.

Change Default WiFi Password

We recommend you to instantly change the default WiFi password of your Linksys router. We all know that wireless password should be more secure so that anyone can’t use your wireless network. many major attacks are served using wireless networks. Hence, it’s also recommended not to use the public WiFi networks for login into the bank account or doing any payment. So, if your home network isn’t secured then your neighbor hacker can know many think about you easily.

  1. Login to the router’s admin panel using default password and username.
  2. Now, click on the Wireless tab and select Wireless Security option.
  3. Set security mode to WAP Personal or whatever you want to set.
  4. Enter words in Passphrase box.
  5. Click on Generate button and your Key1 will be generated which is your new password.
  6. Now, click Save settings and your password is now changed. Use the new password to login to your WiFi network.

Note: All the connected device including the device on which you’re accessing the router’s admin panel will be disconnected from the router. Now, you need to use the new password in order to access the WiFi again.

Change The Router’s Default Password

Once you’ve changed the WiFi network password, next step is to change router’s default password. If you don’t change it, anyone using WiFi can access the admin panel using the admin password. Then he can change WiFi password and whatever he wants to do inside the panel. It might create serious problems for you. Hence, prefer changing the router’s password too.   1. Click on Administration tab in router admin panel.
  2. Select Management option and enter the new password.
  3. Click Save Settings and your password will be changed.
